Hop on and hang on tight!
This event is a local favorite! Contestants pick a partner as the “rider”. The contestant rides their horse to the far side of the arena while pulling a hide attached to a rope. At the other end of the arena is the rider. As the contestant nears the far end of the arena they make a slow turn as the rider attempts to lay down on the hide on their stomach and hang on tight. The Contestant races back to the start line with the rider bouncing across the arena on the hide. The rider must stay on the hide the whole while. The team with the shortest time wins.
