2019 Grand Marshal Jim Crew

Congratulations to 2019 Grand Marshall Jim Crew. Jim came to Tulare County in 1978 as a biologist with the Department of Fish and Wildlife. He moved to Springville in 1989. Jim and his wife Margaret have been married for 48 years. They have three children, Rob Melissa and Matthew. They also have 5 grandkids that they are very proud of.

During his years as a biologist he trapped and relocated over 80 bears and used radio telemetry to track mountain lions and deer. He ran airboats controlling waterfowl disease and flew over the area counting deer and waterfowl. Jim spent time in the backcountry and di project for environmental review on our forests.

Always helping kids, Jim taught Hunter Education for 35 years. He was a member of the Tulare County Fish and Wildlife Commission. Jim became involved with SCICON in 1979 and has been a member of the SCICON Board for years. Jim now spends his time helping SCICON, doing wildlife rescue when needed and is the grounds keeper for the Springville Rodeo.

Jim states, “I love Springville and the many friends and neighbors I have. I attend the Springville Nazarene Church.” Always busy, Jim also plays in a small band called The Occasional Brass. He still loves to hunt and fish and is a friend to everyone he sees. Way to go Jim, Springville is proud of you.
